the classic hamberger


Ingredients

450 gr fresh minced steak

1 onion, grated

4 garlic cloves

2 tbsp olive oil

450gr onion finely sliced

2 tablespoon pepper

humberger buns to serve

sugar and salt and pepper

Method

Place the minced steak , onion and pepper in a large bowl and mix together . Shape into 4-6 equal sized burgers and leave to chill for 30 minutes .

Meanwhile heat the oil in a heavy based frying pan. Add the onions and saute over a low heat for 10 minutes or until the onions have caramelized . Add the sugar after 8 minutes and stir occadsionally and keep warm .

Preheat the barbecue . cook the burgers over hot coals for 3-5minutes on each side or until cooked to personal preference . serve in hamburgers buns with each onions .
